Dear NCS Families,

February break is a great time for students to unwind, but it’s also an opportunity for some fun and engaging learning experiences.  Encourage your child to read a new book, teach you their math skills, or even try out a science experiment at home.  Exploring the outdoors or visiting local museums and libraries can spark curiosity and creativity as well.  Limiting screen time and keeping students engaged over school breaks can make the transition back to the work of a classroom much less challenging.

Sincerely,

Adam Bullard

This week, 7th graders learned about 19th-century cooking methods and technologies in the NCS kitchen. Joined by Leslie Wicks from the YMCA FARMS Kitchen and local historians Jeff and Louise Miller, students whipped up vegetable hash, navy bean soup, and molasses cookies.
