Dear NCS Families,

Custodial Help

You may have already heard, but Tim Souza’s last day NCS will be in early April.  This means that we will be down a full-time Head Custodian AND Evening Custodian at that time.  Both of these incredibly important jobs have been posted, so if you know anyone dependable looking for reliable work, please point them our way.

A huge shout out goes to Briceson Henny who has taken on some of the facilities management duties to make sure we are safe and up to code.  He and I will also be coming up with a plan in case we don’t fill those positions soon; Most likely, hiring a cleaning crew to keep the building presentable.

Best,

Adam Bullard

Flat StanleySecond graders love hearing of Flat Stanley's adventures. Quite the traveler, he has visited 17 states, most recently Maryland, and more importantly, Washington D.C. After hearing of Flat Stanley's trip, one student decided to do more research on our nation's capital and the White House. Pictured below, Harvey Devoe sits with his research project and poster. Nice work, Harvey!

On Jan. 10, seventh and eighth-graders visited Coastal Rivers where they learned how to make fire with bow kits. They practiced using bow drills inside and then went outside to test their skills with kindling and matches. Also on tap this year as part of the Flexible Fridays program are plans for kayak excursions, hiking and more outdoor and indoor adventures. Go, Lions!

The NCS Library is a busy place lately. The NCS Battle of the Books team, top photo, will compete in the Great Maine Book Tournament on Feb. 5 at Lincoln Academy. Fourth-graders assemble puzzles after they finish reading. Go, Lions!
