JUliaA friendly face from The Leadership School at Kieve has joined the Nobleboro Central School community, with Julia Walsh coming aboard as this year's Educator in Residence.

New to Kieve Wavus Education this year, Walsh hails from northern Massachusetts. She attended college at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, where she received a degree in English. At NCS, she has been helping first grade with their writing, doing social-emotional learning activities and team-building with Grades 7 and 8, and helping out during the morning welcome, end of day dismissal, lunch and recess.

"Over these first two weeks, I've been getting to know the kids," she said, adding she plans to join other classrooms soon. She will be at NCS five days per week.

Although this is her first year at the Kieve Learning Center in Nobleboro, she has worked at other camps and offered outdoor education to college students when she was in Wisconsin. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, yoga and reading.

Educators in Residence usually work in local schools from around Thanksgiving to Patriot's Day. Welcome, Julia!

CheerOur cheerleaders hit the court, spreading school spirit last week, cheering from the sidelines. This week they took it one step further, performing their newly perfected halftime routine. The crowd was in awe of these girls and how quickly they have learned their new skills. GO LIONS!!!

Cheer 2

concert prepAfter a full day of hard work practicing and preparing, students and staff were ready to welcome family and friends to last night's Winter Concert.

Students put on a wonderful show, full of holiday cheer, for the packed gymnasium. We thank all of you who joined us; it truly is one of our favorite nights of the year. It's such a joy seeing our NCS community come together.
