Dear NCS Families,
NPTO
The lobby at NCS will be filled with the sounds of clinking glass change jars and excited students because of the now annual NPTO penny war. Thank you in advance to everyone who will raid their coin stashes to help support their mission. That said, please make sure that you speak in advance with our children about the size of the coin and bill donations. We have seen some students in the past put lots of cash into the jars and we weren’t certain if parents were aware of this. At times, we have called home to confirm.
All of the proceeds will go toward funding special supply requests for teachers and meaningful experiences for students. For example, the NPTO has recently agreed to support the 6th grade by helping to fund their FARMS at the YMCA programming this winter. Please feel free to reach out to learn how you can help the NPTO in other ways.
Pumpkin Day
This is just a reminder that K-4 Pumpkin Day is coming up at Nobleboro on October 31st. Rather than students dressing up in their Halloween costumes, there will be a range of fun activities planned for students by their teachers to celebrate the day in a more structured way.

Applefest was a huge success again this year. The school was buzzing with community members, students, and staff. Pictured above are a few of the 8th graders who spent their day fund raising for their class trip. Go Lions!!
The 3rd graders are having a blast learning and playing tennis with coach Georgia from the YMCA during PE for 4 weeks this fall. As a bonus, while here, she invites students of all ages to swing a racket during their afternoon recess.
As part of their social studies unit on the Wabanki, 4th graders spent time outside this week building wigwams.
It's time to start digging under the couch cushions and raiding the change jars!! The NPTO Penny War kicks off Monday.
Get those running shoes ready! The Annual Lincoln Academy Pumpkin Run is this Wednesday at 4 pm. Interested students in Grades 4-8, please see Mrs. York.
