Anxious Generation
As part of our commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all of our students, this year our entire staff will be participating in a comprehensive book study of The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. This book provides insights into the challenges faced by today's youth caused by the rise of social media and the decrease of unstructured play. Additionally, it offers strategies for how schools and communities can work together to better support resilience and emotional well-being.
We are excited about the potential impact of this book study and we anticipate that we will be incorporating some of the strategies into our school routines, policies and curriculum - most notably those related to cell phones, social media, and recess.
