Dear NCS Families,
As we approach the upcoming town meeting this Saturday where the school budget will be voted on, I wanted to take a moment to voice appreciation for all of the individuals who have carved out time to speak with me about the school budget. I thoroughly enjoy communicating the challenges and successes of our high functioning K-8 school as I believe the more people who are aware of what we do every day, the better.
While the process has shown that there are many different opinions and perspectives regarding the budget as a whole, I know that everyone would agree that this community is built on a foundation of respect. As a self-proclaimed “please and thank you school” the process starts early with students beginning their kindergarten careers learning how to be respectful and helpful classmates and leave as 8th grade leaders, ready for high school and beyond.
I am looking forward to hearing the perspectives of all our community members on Saturday and feel confident that together we can work towards ensuring the continued success of our school.
Sincerely,
Adam Bullard
Second graders have been busy this week; building squirrel proof bird feeders after reading "Those Darn Squirrels" in Library, weaving Wabanaki baskets, and creating acrostic poems about spring time.
The NCS Art Club has been been a huge success thanks to our new Art teacher, Ms. Richmond. Due to a conflict in scheduling we will only hold a club meeting once a week. Please read the notice below for more details.
Fifth-graders are hard at work on their cereal box book report project during library class. Each student will create a cereal based on a favorite book, using their creative skills to make artwork, sales gimmicks and even a puzzle for the back!
With St. Patrick's Day just a few days away, it was time for our kindergarten and eighth grade buddies to join forces building the best Leprechaun traps NCS has ever seen. And thanks to our first graders, with their depictions of the tricky little elves, we'll be sure to know who to be on the lookout for.
We hope to see you all Saturday at the Nobleboro Town Meeting held right here at NCS. If you are looking for child care, we've got you covered. Art Teacher Olivia Richmond along with student volunteers will be onsite, ready to have some fun!
