Dear NCS Families,

Superintendent Search

By now, you probably have heard that our Superintendent - Lynsey Johnston - will be stepping down from her post this summer.  The AOS Board has begun the hiring process and will be creating a search committee to fill this position within the next few months.  Superintendent positions are critical to the proper functioning of a school district and much like many other positions in education these days, there is a shortage in Maine.  I am hopeful that we will have ample NCS representation on this committee.  If this process is something you are interested in hearing more about or taking an active role in, please feel free to reach out to me: abullard@aos93.org

Sincerely,

Adam Bullard

Congratulations to first grader Clementine Shorey for winning 1 of the 48 bikes and helmets awarded to Maine students who participated in the Maine Department of Educations Read to Ride Summer Reading Challenge.

NCS students put their hard work to the test on Saturday and Sunday at The 2024 US National Toboggan Championships held at The Camden Snow Bowl with their handcrafted toboggans.  Team Shark and Team Lion had great runs but unfortunately fell short of a win.  A special thank you to parents, teachers, and The Apprenticeshop; this truly was an experience our students will never forget.

Kindergartners in Mrs. Stewart’s class have been reading “how to” books. They are talking about the use of books to learn things like cooking, telling time, tying their shoes and much more.
