Dear NCS Families,
On Monday in the NCS gym, our school board will meet with the town budget committee to discuss the proposed school budget for our next fiscal year. At the last school board meeting, the board did as much as they could to keep the budget increase as low as possible without impacting programs, however, we anticipate the town will seek additional cuts as they did last year. I strongly suggest against any further cuts as I believe that would be detrimental to the services provided to students, our building, and our ability to attract and retain high quality staff.
I encourage you to attend the meeting on Monday at 6pm. Though public comment will not happen at this meeting, it will be helpful for voting residents to hear the conversation.
If you have any questions or would like to speak to me further about the proposed budget, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Adam Bullard
Mother Nature seems to be a little confused this winter; but, our students sure do know how to take advantage of the white stuff when she's blessed us with it!
Inside the classroom, Kindergartners continued the fun by reading The Snowy Day, and creating their own snowy day artwork.
To celebrate the completion of their research on penguins, Kindergarten and their 8th grade buddies made edible penguin treats.
